No, that’s right, I’ve finally managed to sneak in a portrait of a hooman being! I’ve wanted to do more people paintings but don’t often get the chance so with the thought of the Olympics and Paralympics coming up this year, I thought I would take advantage of being in contact with Lee Pearson CBE, British Dressage Paralympic Gold Medallist and do a painting of his handsome self, including a painting of him riding Gentleman. I’m hoping to submit this painting to an exhibition but I’m keeping quiet as to which at the moment as it’s quite a big exhibition and I’m sure I don’t stand a chance so best not to jinx it just yet! I have also included some photos of the painting in progress. That jacket alone took 3 days to paint!!! Yes, there was much banging of head against desk by the time I was finished as it was quite hard work and sent me slightly over the edge but I do love painting people and hope to do another one soon. But between now and then I will be doing a few smaller pieces just to give myself something easier to work on and in a desperate attempt to produce some affordable paintings! This painting, by the way, is 20×24″ and is my usual acrylic.
